A Bit About Allison Williamson
The Full Story
Growing up, I found ways to express myself through storytelling. Between utilizing puppets and writing my first short stories, I practiced the various ways to tell a story to engage my audience effectively.
During my college career, I translated this ability to become a professional writer. I landed coverage in print and digital media outlets, including Cooglife and The Cougar. I have an article featured in the 2019 edition of Transitions, the magazine for University of Houston first-year students, and you can find my blog work at BYOD Cities. Inspired by the company, “Behind the Leash” was a journalism project to share BYOD Cities' mission and values while sharpening my multimedia skills. Every project taught me to develop my style and voice, approaching every challenge as an experience to grow and develop as a storyteller.
As a content creator for social media, I utilized my writing skills to generate engaging captions for BYOD Cities' platforms, and currently, I work with Cram Crew to build their social media presence. I’m trained in social media analytics, marketing strategy, and project management through this line of work. While working with the company, I discovered my passion for design and how a company tells a story through its brand.
Because of my passion and new goals, I returned to school to face new challenges and knowledge in graphic design, diving deeper into the areas of multimedia from sketching to web design. In addition to the projects I completed, I also seek out new types of endeavors I have yet to encounter.
